Community Focus is very proud to have recently been awarded a substantial grant from the Big Lottery Fund for 'Youth Focus'.
This award will ensure that we can provide engaging and empowering services for young people in and around Barnet for the next three years.
The aim of the project is to build the confidence and self-esteem of vulnerable, disabled and disadvantaged young people in the London Borough of Barnet by giving them opportunities to develop vocational and leadership skills. The young people involved will be responsible for the development and running of the project, giving them transferrable skills that they can use in everyday life in their communities.

Community Focus welcomes Jenny Gordon, our new Artist in Residence
Jenny Gordon will be resident with us until October 2010. Jenny is a visual artist and her medium is film. 'I currently make short films using a combination of my own work and appropriated footage from an eclectic range of films. I create a kaleidoscope of images in order to interpret the human condition, nature and the elements.
Jenny will be having an open studion at CF in up and coming months and will be joining our previous artist in residence, Natalie Sanders for exhibitions with 198 Centre for Comtemporary Arts and Learning, Colchester Hospital and Carnival Arts. Jenny will also be participating in workshops with Tate Modern and talks at the Whitechapel. For more information visit www.jennifergordon.
